During the recent scientific conference, we had the privilege of delivering a keynote presentation titled "Advancing 4D Simulation for Construction Projects: Evaluating Industry Needs and Future Outlook." This session, co-presented by Professors Conrad Boton, Silvio Melhado and Adel Francis, provided an in-depth exploration of the state of 4D simulation in the construction industry and its promising future.

Dr. Numan Khan has joined the team of the LaRTIC !

Dr. Numan Khan has joined the team of the LaRTIC !

We are happy to welcome Dr. Numan Khan in the LaRTIC team, as a postdoctoral fellow.

Dr. Khan's skills will be very useful for LaRTIC. His research work is intended to propose and implement advanced technologies to enhance safety and reduce defects in construction projects. He published nine articles in internationally reputed journals, presented 12 conference papers in international conferences and workshops, as well as in three domestic conferences.

Le professeur Conrad Boton a rejoint, depuis 2019, le comité consultatif (Advisory Board) du projet de recherche d'envergure DigiPLACE. Il s'agit d'un projet financé par le programme Horizon 2020 de la Commission Européenne et regroupant les plus grands acteurs de l’industrie de la construction en Europe.

Designing adapted BIM-centered common data environments in construction: A systemic approach

Project description

The quality of collaboration between the stakeholders is crucial for the productivity and the success of projects in the construction industry. An important research effort has been made to improve it in the recent years, notably through the use of information technologies , including the Building Information Modeling (BIM) approach. In this context, the BIM-centered Common Data Environments (CDE) are considered as the future of computer-supported collaborative work platforms for the construction industry.
