Participation in an industry panel on BIM training
On November 15, 2024, Professor Conrad Boton participated in an industry panel on BIM training. The panel, organized as part of the Journée-conférences CDP Génie 2024 at the Longueuil Campus of the Université de Sherbrooke, focused on the essential and emerging skills needed to support the digital transformation of the industry.
Organized in collaboration with public clients of the Governmental Roadmap for BIM, this event provided an opportunity to present the results of an analysis of competency profiles and ongoing work. The panelists engaged with the audience to identify key skills and the challenges associated with their development, using an interactive survey to gather diverse perspectives.
The discussion then shifted to the availability of training programs in Québec, assessing their alignment with industry needs and the challenges related to their evolution. The panelists explored opportunities for improving existing programs and the obstacles to their implementation, emphasizing the importance of tailored training to support the industry's digital transformation.
